梁承受彎曲力矩作用時，若其撓曲剛度大，則其彎曲變形量小。
因此，梁之撓曲剛度(flexuralrigidity)為判斷梁之剛性大小的指標，又稱為梁之撓曲剛度模數，其值為EI，其中E為楊式模數(Young'smodulus)，I為梁橫斷面對中立軸的慣性矩。
